Launch Party, Style Me Vintage Clothes, 18th February 2012
A delightfully vintage time was had by all at the launch of Naomi Thompson’s fabulous new book Style Me Vintage Clothes. The event took place in Shoreditch, in London’s super cool East End.
The great and the good of the vintage world were on hand to help celebrate – check out the stunning Fay Stevenson, Lena Weber from the Vintage Guide to London and Queens of Vintage and Hannah Asprey (left to right in the bottom of picture collage “Great & Good”). Mrs T, Miss Harriet T - one of the 80’s models in the book – and Molly are engrossed in the book (left to right in the top of image collage “Great & Good).
Author, the lovely Naomi, was wearing a beautiful little number from Lovely’s Vintage Emporium (see picture collage “Author, DJ and Cupcakes”). Guests were well taken care of with copious amounts of bubbly Freixenet and Kings Ginger “ginger squeeze” (a most lovely tipple!). To accompany, there were cupcakes, of course! Image collage “Author, DJ and Cupcakes” shows Jennifer Siggs, 50’s DJ extraordinaire, Vintage Mafia Member and cover girl for Naomi’s book – she’s testing the Wild Thexton pork pie “cupcake” – yes, it’s a real pork pie, with yummy mash (mustard, spring pea, carrot or beetroot) on top – a must try!
There was fabulous vintage hair styling, and entertainment came in the form, amongst others, of Gemma Kind - one of Naomi’s Style Me Vintage 30s models - who impressed with her ukelele. Prizes were also up for grabs, including an exquisite fascinator, won by a lucky guest. Although not singing, the talented Annie Andrews was also enjoying the celebrations (see image collage “Uke, Prize, Annie and Bubbly” for all above). Catch some of Annie’s music at vintagevictory.com and youtube.com/user/MyVintageVictory.
Guests partied on into the night at the Vintage Mafia’s very own Ric Rac Club.
