Thank you all those who attended, the first VintageVictory Market for Halloween at the Shenfield Parish Hall was a huge success, and was covered by The Brentwood Gazette:

"Indoor market us hailed as a vintage success."  By Iain Johnson, Brentwood Gazette

"A NEW indoor market promoting the splendour of yesteryear's fashions has opened in Shenfield.

More than 200 people descended on the Parish Hall, in Hutton Road, to explore the trendy world of vintage on Saturday. Punters browsed a broad range of stalls offering a variety of crafted goods with a personal touch, including retro kitchenware, glassware, china, collectables and Christmas cards.

Among the traders displaying their wares was the Black Sheep Boutique, offering a handmade clothing range recreating looks from the 1960s to the 1990s.

There were also beautifully-textured cushions, corsages, scarves and bracelets for sale and a selection of vintage-inspired gifts made by Brentwood mum Claire Mackaness. She said: "It was very, very well organised. The people who came were extremely pleasant and they spent all their money, which was good. It would have been nice to have a few more along and hopefully we'll get that next time."

Organisers Katy Brown and Gerardo Yllescas, from Vintage Victory, who already run an open-air market in Brentwood High Street, were behind the event.

Katy hailed it a tremendous success: "It was our first one and we are pleased and we thought a lot of people enjoyed it." "I do not really know what we expected but we were pleased with the turnout and everyone who came thought it was a nice, happy atmosphere."

Plans for a second market day on December 17 are already under way. On top of the range of goods for sale, Katy has promised live entertainment and other attractions including face-painting for children and a Christmas raffle. She added: "We hope to have a 40s Starlet, obviously singing 1940s songs, and possibly a trio of beauty shop girls, a bit like a barber shop quartet, doing a variety of vintage numbers."

Vintage Victory, which raised around £100 for Help for Heroes from a bucket collection, is always on the lookout for new traders to join its market days.
