What I love the most about vintage fabrics is knowing that you are wearing a piece of history. I love that the person who designed it was inspired by a life that I nor anyone I know will ever experience. If the fabric was once part of something else, such as a kimono, then I relish that not only has that fabric been seen and admired by people of another age but was also existing in a context with a completely different meaning. We are united however by the fabric and the appreciation of it’s aesthetic. The fact that I can make ethical fashion and accessories out of them brings gives them a modern twist and the beginnings of a whole new life.
