My Grandmother was a talented bead embroideress, who made hats in her spare time. She encouraged me to make beautiful things, indulged my passion for stealing her beautiful old clothes and took a great delight in seeing these items put to good use, but worn in a completely different way. Thus, my love of 'vintage' was born.
Years have passed and while my daughter is now the one wearing the vintage clothes - I am taking a great personal delight making quirky little fascinators. These are all carefully sewn by hand, nothing is glued, they are mostly one-offs and are most definitely vintage-inspired.
I am constantly on the lookout for small but wonderful vintage items: jewellery; ornaments; fabric and other ephemera. If the item comes with a bit of history - so much the better!
